The soft nuances of our Coimbra candle in pink cream are reminiscent of the interplay of light and color in a blooming summer garden. The handmade, multi-layered glaze brings this blooming mood directly into your home and makes each piece a small work of art.
As sustainability is particularly important to us, we use paraffin-free soy wax and a cotton wick. This has the great advantage that the natural and non-harmful substances result in a longer burning time with a smaller flame. The subtle scent guarantees that you will never tire of it. In addition, once the wax has been completely removed, the cup can of course be reused, e.g. for delicious drinks or as a small flower pot. All Motel a Miio ceramic products are handcrafted in Portugal – in small, family-run workshops we have been working closely with since the very beginning. Each piece is shaped, glazed, and fired by hand.
Thanks to this traditional production process, every piece is truly one of a kind.
As all Motel a Miio products are handmade in Portugal, slight variations in shape, color, or surface may occur from batch to batch.
These small irregularities are what make each piece unique – they are a characteristic feature of genuine craftsmanship and not a reason for complaint.
No, this is not a defect. In certain collections – such as the Alcachofra collection – fine hairline cracks in the glaze (known as crazing) are an intentional part of the design and a characteristic feature of this ceramic tradition.
They occur during the firing process and do not affect the food safety or durability of the ceramics.
Yes. All our glazes are food-safe and comply with the strict regulations of the European Food Safety Department.
This ensures that all our glazes are free from harmful substances and metals such as cadmium and lead.
USAGE
Yes, all Motel a Miio ceramic products are microwave-safe.
Exception: Please do not place items with a gold rim in the microwave, as this may damage the gold detailing.
Not all items are oven-safe. Our baking dishes are oven-safe up to 180°C.
For all other ceramic products, we do not recommend using them in the oven at temperatures above 100°C. Detailed care instructions can always be found on the respective product page.

To avoid material stress and cracks, we recommend placing the baking dish into a cold oven and heating it up together with the oven – do not place it into a preheated oven.

Yes, Motel a Miio ceramics are dishwasher-safe.
However, we recommend washing items with a gold rim, as well as vases and carafes, by hand – the gold detailing may fade in the dishwasher and more delicate shapes could become damaged.
Motel a Miio ceramics are dishwasher-safe. However, for longer durability, we recommend washing them by hand using a soft sponge and mild detergent.
Please avoid rough sponges or aggressive cleaning products, as these may damage the glazed surface.
